Fifty years ago, in June of 1970, Spratlin and Associates had mailed out their very first newsletter to lot owners. The first house in Bent Tree wasn't even finished being built by this time. The newsletter covered the road paving schedule, progress on the overlook on Hendrix Mountain, the development schedule of the golf course, power line construction by Amicalola EMC, the adult pool, and a contest to name a road that is now known as Bent Tree Drive. The first home under construction was mentioned as belonging to a Lee Gonzalez, a three story wood home
next to the Overlook on Hendrix Mountain.
