Lament

A dark and haunting poem

Distant echoes,

voices skilled,

a funeral pyre of memories

Remembering desires

that Fate had stilled,

haunting, ethereal threnodies

Bowing towers,

steeples filled,

an orchestral mire of tragedies

beckoning clergy

that Time had chilled,

daunting, surreal reveries

Rustling branches,

zephyr willed,

a faceless procession of identities

laughing at all

that Death had killed,

unrelenting melodies
